April firmly believes in the scripture: “Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you.” She and her brother have honored their parents ensuring they received the best healthcare and caregiving possible. This book is a labor of love, April prays will touch the hearts of many. She shares heartfelt reflections on watching as the two people who brought her into the world struggled as their health deteriorated. With both facing dementia and Alzheimer’s this was not an easy journey to endure. However in the midst of the journey there was “beauty for ashes”. April also shares the joy and laughter they experienced in her caregiving journey. Despite the pain and challenges, she holds deep gratitude for the blessing of caring for her mother and father. April hopes to help others who are traveling or have traveled this same journey.
